A teenage dad from Derby has been told by a judge he “needs to grow up” and put other people’s needs ahead of his own after he admitted assaulting a woman.

District Judge Jonathan Taaffe told Joshua Webster his cannabis habit meant he was “risking losing everything” as he sentenced him for the offence.

Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court was told how the 18-year-old threw a shoe at the victim which hit her in the face after “shouting and swearing” at her during an argument.
